Day 0 - Welcome to The House of MG - Ahmedabad
Arrival- Introductions & Orientation
Welcome dinner at Agashiye- the terrace eatery of the House of MG You will be received at Ahmedabad’s Sardar Patel Airport by our representatives and transferred to the House of Mangaldas Girdhardas. The House of MG is located to the East of the River Sabarmati and opposite the famous 16th century Sidi Syed Mosque. On arrival, you will rest for a day and in the evenings, we will get together for introductions
and a brief orientation which will be followed by a well acquainted traditional dinner at Agashiye, the terrace eatery of the House of MG.
You will begin the tour from the Calico Museum of Textiles, perhaps the most comprehensive collection of Indian Textiles in the world. After a one and a guided tour of the museum, you will visit the Gandhi Ashram, the residence of Mahatma Gandhi, where you visit his cottage and get a peek into his way of life. You will also visit a handmade paper factory,
supported by the ashram in keeping with Mahatma Gandhi’s principles of self-reliance.
After lunch at the Green House, the courtyard
café at The House of MG, you have
time to rest. You will spend the evening
at the Sarkhej Roza, a 15th century complex
built around an artificial lake. After watching
the sunset you will visit the utensils museum
at Vishala and also have a rural Gujarati
dinner at the village style restaurant,
sitting cross-legged on the floor, listening
to folk music and watching folk dances.
Day 02 - Sun Temple at Modhera & The Little Rann of Kutch The Little Rann of Kutch, Sun Temple at Modhera Travel Time : 6 Hrs Desert Safari : 3 hrs Walking : light Meals : Breakfast-lunch- high tea-dinner
You will depart early in the morning
for the 11th century Sun Temple at Modhera,
famous for its exquisite sculptures depicting scenes from the epics with the traditional erotica. From there you will drive on to the Little Rann of Kutch, the only sanctuary for the Asiatic Wild Ass in India, for lunch at a camp followed by a desert safari. You will see exotic wildlife like the the chestnut-brown wild ass, ‘chinkara’ gazelle, blue bull antelope, Indian and desert foxes, and desert birds. You will also visit the salt-pans of this region and see flamingos, pelicans and cranes at the Banjara Lake. After high tea, you will return to Ahmedabad by late evening. Dinner at the House of MG.

Leave for Lothal, site of 2400 BCE
year old Harappan Civilization (one
hour’s drive away) with a fascinating
museum of the excavated artifacts
found at the site. This will be followed
by lunch at Utelia Palace, (a restored
between 1955-1962 palace run by the
erstwhile royal family).
After lunch and short rest, you will drive to Nalsarovar Bird Sanctuary and spend the evening canoeing and seeing exotic migratory birds. It is one of the most important wetlands in the country that spans over 121 sq km and is studded with hundreds of little islands. At the end of the day, after enjoying a magnificent sunset at Nal Sarovar you will return to Ahmedabad. Then, get dressed for a Gala dinner featuring North Indian Frontier Province cuisine at a luxury hotel.
Day 04 - Vintage & Classic car collection and local bazaars

Post breakfast, you will drive to
Adalaj Step Wells to see unique underground
architecture of 11th century. Then
you will Mr. Pranlal Bhogilal, a big
land owner and businessman’s
famous car museum featuring an overwhelming
collection of custom built vintage
and classic cars that once belonged
to the Maharajas of India.
It is located in a ________ acre organic farm just outside of Ahmedabad. For lunch, you will return to the House of MG. You will have the afternoon to yourself. In the evening we will take a short drive around the city, visiting boutiques, selling ethnic products and shop at the famous night market at Law garden. Tour ends with a gala dinner at Mangaldas ni Haveli, a 250 year carved wooden house in the interior of the Historic Walled city of Ahmedabad followed by a night Heritage Walk that will end with a little musical surprise.
