with Light (on negative film)
In one of the experiments in 1991-2, M.F. sat down with
a palette of four or five different coloured lights in a dark room, in
front of an SLR camera with an open shutter, and painted the images below.
He was moving his hand in the air, in total darkness and his presence
of mind and ingenuity is visible in the fact that he signed his name in
mirror image so that it came out legible in the negative. He even posed
for some self portraits. These images have been made into a never seen
before, one of a kind limited edition set.
