The 'State of the Art' exhibition was an open-ended project, with no one quite sure of the outcome. Over a period of two years, the artists worked informally in a makeshift studio equipped with all the modern technology of the time to create montages that were transferred on to canvas on a giant ink jet printer in UK and these one of a kind giclees were then returned to the artists for further contemplation. Many of them continued their mixed media experiments while some left them as they were.
